Eye Shadow Look Of The Week

This is the Eye Shadow Look that I decided to use as an inspiration for my "Eye Shadow look of the week".  This is something that I stumbled across on Pinterest the other day and loved it for so many reasons. First of all I love how it can be worn in so many different ways, literally from morning until night.  I also love how it is a fairly easy look to accomplish with just a few steps. Some looks that you find on Pinterest are definitely a little more tricky so I thought for my first Eye Shadow Look Of The Week I would do something a little easier!  I'll show you how I used this look for inspiration for my makeup today! Let me know what you think and share with me your results!

The first step is applying a silver eyeshadow to your lid starting from the beginning and ending about halfway.  At the half way point you want to go a little darker, and find more of a gray shade and start working that from the middle of your lid to the outer corner of your eye.  This is going to help create the transition from the light to dark.  Don't worry the look will come more together once we start the fun part, adding the purple!!

When looking for a purple eye shadow there are really no limitations. Choose whatever color works best for you and that you feel comfortable with!  I mixed a couple of my favorite purples together for my look!  I used a medium purple and mixed it with a darker purple with pink tones!  Using your brush you want to start blending the purple eye shadow in with the darker gray that we applied.  You want to blend the purple from the middle of your lid to the outer corner of your eye and also blending it slightly above your crease.  After you have done this step, if you really want to achieve the Pinterest look it is important to find a highlighter or an eye shadow that can work as a highlighter.  With this look there is definitely a lot of shimmer going on!  With your brush you want to take a highlighter and blend it from the beginning of your lid above your crease and work it right up under your brow bone, this is really going to help your look come together! Next you want to take the purple eye shadow and apply that underneath your lower lash line.  This is going to help you achieve the somewhat smokey eye from the Pinterest Picture.

The next step is eyeliner.  For this specific look a liquid eyeliner is going to be your best choice.  This helps give you the ability to really play with the shape and thickness of your eyeliner and help you better achieve this look.  You want to start by creating a medium/thick line above your upper lash line with your eyeliner and then fill it in.  Use the picture as a tool to help you get a better idea as to what thickness and shape to use.

After this step you want to go ahead and use any dark black mascara that you have and apply that to both your upper and lower lashes.  If you want an extra dramatic look, try using false lashes and then applying your mascara!

Once you have completed this step you have finished your look!  I hope that this was helpful and please share with me your thoughts and your results if you happen to try this look out!
